Good to know: By accepting our terms and conditions, house rules and this privacy statement, you give Maashof Exploitatie B.V., hereinafter referred to as ‘Maashof’, explicit permission to process personal data of any fellow travellers under 16 years of age, as well as to send commercial emails before, during and after your stay to the email addresses you provide.
Maashof Exploitatie B.V. is a commercial accommodation provider. In our business operations, we process privacy-sensitive information, also known as personal data. In some cases, we collaborate with other organisations or companies in doing so.
We consider it of great importance that this data is handled carefully and securely and we respect the privacy of our guests. Personal data known to us are processed in a manner, which is in accordance with the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Act.
This means, for example:
- that we clearly state the purposes for which we process personal data. We do so through this privacy statement;
- Limit the collection of personal data to only those personal data that are necessary for the purposes for which they are processed;
- Asking your explicit consent to process your personal data first in cases where your consent is required;
Not pass on your data to third parties, unless this is necessary to provide the requested service, to improve our service or when we are legally obliged to do so; - Where we share your data, make arrangements with third parties to ensure, among other things, that it is not used for other purposes;
- Take appropriate security measures to protect your personal data and require the same from parties processing personal data on our behalf;
- Respect your right to provide access to, correct or delete your personal data at your request.

What data do we collect?
When using our products, services and visiting our website, you leave certain data with us. This may include personal data. We do not always process all the data listed below. This depends on which products, services and functionalities on our websites you choose to use.
For example, we only process your CV, motivation letter and level of education when you apply for a job with us and only during the period in which an application is current. We only store BSN number, ID number, usernames and passwords when you start working for us. Other data are as a rule only stored when you have made a reservation with us or purchased a service.
Depending on the products, services and functionalities you use on our websites, we may process the following personal data from you:

How do we collect this data?
The way in which we collect personal data depends on the information you have requested and/or the services you have purchased via our website and/or the reservation agreements you have entered into with us by telephone, in writing or by e-mail. We list all the possibilities for you. For all data collected, we will not keep it longer than the legal obligation or deemed necessary by the organisation.
Verbal, telephone and/or e-mail
When recording a reservation, an option on a reservation or a brochure request, we document personal data in our reservation system ´Mews´ or on our secure e-mail servers.
Chat messages and (contact) forms
Questions, feedback and/or comments submitted to us via the contact form or chat on our website and by completing our survey may be stored as required by Maashof Exploitatie B.V.. This data may be archived indefinitely in our reservation system ´Mews´ or in on our secure e-mail servers.
Social Media
Questions, feedback and/or comments made known to us via private messages on Social Media are answered as quickly as possible and may contain personal data. If deemed necessary to keep this data in the context of proper service provision, we may keep it in our reservation system ´Mews ´ or on our e-mail servers.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to track how you use our website and commercial spending online. The information thus obtained, including the address of your IP address, is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
Google uses this information to track how our website is used, to provide us with reports on the website and to provide its advertisers with information on the effectiveness of their campaigns. Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so, or insofar as these third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. We have no influence on this. This data is stored for a maximum of 38 months.
Google Adwords
We use remarketing via Google Adwords to show you the most relevant advertisements on the web after you have visited our website. The information thus obtained, including the address of your IP address, is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. This data is stored for a maximum of 38 months.
Click behaviour and visitor data
General visit data is recorded on the website. In this context, in particular the IP address of your computer, any user name, the time of request and data sent by a visitor’s browser may be recorded and used for statistical analyses of visiting and clicking behaviour on the website. We also optimise the functioning of our website in this way.
Newsletter subscriptions
We offer you the opportunity to subscribe to our newsletters via our website. Your e-mail address is only added to the list of subscribers if you have given your explicit permission or if we have entered into an agreement for a stay at Maashof. Every newsletter contains a link that allows you to unsubscribe from the newsletters at any time. The subscriber file is not provided to third parties for commercial purposes. It is only supplied to the supplier of our e-mail software package ‘Mailchimp’ for data processing. This data is never deleted, unless your preferences are changed.
Camera surveillance
To ensure the security of persons, buildings and the grounds, we use camera surveillance throughout the grounds and our facilities (with the exception of hotel rooms). These images are stored for no longer than 7 days and can only be viewed by the owners of Maashof and our ICT company.
For what purpose is this data collected?
We collect personal data for a variety of reasons. For example, we are required by law to register details of our guests in a so-called ‘night register’. Furthermore, we collect personal data in order to provide information about your reservation and stay, provide service to our guests and possibly for various marketing purposes, including sending e-mail newsletters and remarketing advertisements. Finally, data (including camera images) may be used to ensure your security and prevent theft.
Disclosure to third parties
We pass on the data you provide to third parties if this is necessary for the correct and complete provision of the services you have requested or to improve our service and guest orientation.
For example, we use a third party for the processing of iDeal payments in our website and we transfer your data to the supplier of our reservation system ‘Mews’, the supplier of our booking software ‘Mews’ and the supplier of our survey system ‘Revinate’.
When we provide your data to a third party, we will ensure (by means of an agreement) that your data is not used for other purposes. We also agree herein that your data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer needed.
Furthermore, we will not provide the data you provide to other parties, unless required or permitted by law. For example, the police may request data from us for fraud investigations. In that case, we are legally obliged to hand over this data.
Security and storage
We take appropriate security measures to limit misuse of and unauthorised access to your personal data. For example, we ensure that only the necessary persons have access to the data, that access to the data is protected and that our security measures are checked regularly.
We do not retain data for longer than necessary. That is, we keep the data as long as necessary to provide the service you have requested. Exceptions to this are the data we need to keep for longer because the law requires us to, and data we use for direct mailing (e.g. e-mail address and first name).
Inspection, correction and right to object
If you have a relationship with our company, you have the opportunity to view your personal data upon written request. If the overview provided by us contains inaccuracies, you can request us in writing to change or remove the data. In addition, you can notify us in writing if you do not wish to be contacted with information about our products and services by notifying us at the following address:

Complaints regarding the processing of your personal data?
Of course, we will be happy to help you if you have any complaints about the processing of your personal data. If, despite this, you still cannot work things out with us, you also have the right under privacy legislation to submit a complaint to the privacy regulator, the Personal Data Authority. You can contact the Personal Data Authority for this purpose.
Changes to this privacy statement
We may amend this privacy notice from time to time. Changes will be published on our website. We never use your data for other purposes without permission. It is therefore advisable to consult this privacy statement regularly so that you are aware of these changes.
